PAUL BAILEY SERVICES ON MAY 7TH
Paul J. Bailey was born September 8, 1883 in Lowland,
Virginia to William and Nancy Bailey.
In West Virginia in 1903, he was married to Genevieve
McGraw who preceded him in death in 1970.
He was an Engineer and Heavy Equipment Operator in the
logging industry in the South Eastern States before he moved his family to
the Northwest. In 1917, Mr. Bailey continued his worked at Coeur d'Alene,
Idaho moving to Spokane in 1931. He moved to White Salmon in 1948 and has
lived here since that time.
Mr. Bailey was initiated into the Masonic Lodge #147
AM & FM of Tams, West Virginia on August 19, 1916. After he moved to
the Northwest, he transferred his membership to the Masonic Lodge #207 of
Tigard, Oregon. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church of White
Salmon.
He passed away at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon on
May 3, 1974 at the age of 90 years.
He is survived by two daughters: Eliece Clark of White
Salmon and Genevieve Barry of Spokane, Washington; four sons: Paul T. Bailey
of Lake Oswego, Oregon; Dalene Bailey of Wichita Falls, Texas; Charles Bailey
of Lewiston, Idaho; and Neal Bailey of Spokane, Washington.
His son, Earl, preceded him in death in 1967.
Also surviving are: 27 grandchildren and 48 great
grand-children; two sisters: Ethel Humberson of Somerset, Pennsylvania; and
Sallie Cory of Rockville, Indiana.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 7, at 2:00 p.m.
at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon. Interment was in the White Salmon
Cemetery. Rev. Donald Kaelin of the United Methodist Church of White Salmon
and the Masonic Lodge #163 of White Salmon officiated at the services. Members
of the Masonic Lodge were casket bearers.
