PHYLLIS SIMMONS
Phyllis June Simmons, a White Salmon resident, died March
18, 1997, at Emanuel Hospital in Portland from a brain hemorrhage, at the
age of 52.
Mrs. Simmons was born Dec.17, 1944, in Hood River, Ore.,
to Everett and Ada Miller of Odell, Ore. Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker, who
enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts and traveling.
After meeting and marrying Williams Simmons, they traveled
extensively throughout the United States. Her children and grandchildren
were her special joy.
Mrs. Simmons was initiated as a member of the Eagles
Lodge #2210 of Bingen in 1985. She served as treasurer, assistant manager
and bookkeeper at various times.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband, William, White
Salmon; son Rodney Armstrong, White Salmon; daughters Cindy True, Underwood,
and Kristi Ames, White Salmon; brothers and sisters-in-law Loren and Kathryn
Miller, Parkdale, Ore., Lavern and Carmalita Miller, Odell, Ore., Darrell
and June Miller, Hood River, and Leaford (deceased) and Maxine Miller, Cascade
Locks, Ore.; sister Earlene Bowman, Vancouver; seven grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Valley Worship
Center in Parkdale on March 29, 1997, at 3 p.m. A memorial reception will
be held at the Eagles Lodge in Bingen at noon on March 29, 1997, for family
and friends. Private interment will he in White Salmon.
Memorials may be made to the Phyllis Simmons Memorial
Fund in care of 1st Independent Bank in Bingen.
