THREE DIE IN OREGON ACCIDENT
Three prominent White Salmon residents were killed Saturday afternoon on
Oregon's Interstate 84 east of Mosier when wheels broke away from a truck and
struck their vehicle.
Dead are Arthur Floyd Moore, 77, his daughter Patricia
Louise Dugdale, 53, and her husband Ronald Dean Dugdale, 58.
According to the Wasco County Sheriff's office, the
three were traveling east on I-84 about one mile east of Mosier. A truck in the
westbound lane lost its left rear dual wheels. The wheels jumped the
interstate’s center divider and struck the vehicle operated by Ronald Dugdale.
Moore and the Dugdale's were killed instantly, the
Wasco County Sheriff's office reported. The accident occurred about 1 p.m.
Saturday.
The westbound truck was driven by 33-year-old David
Linn Ogle of Milton-Freewater, Ore. He was not injured in the accident. No
citations were issued.
The accident occurred near milepost 71.
Moore and the Dugdale's were active community members
in White Salmon.
Moore was president of the Mt. Adams Loggers
Association, and has been an association member for 40 years. The Wichita
Falls, Texas, native also was a member of the Husum Fire Department.
Moore lived in this area since 1940, and was a member
of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Hood River.
Ronald Dugdale was a local carpenter. He moved to the
area in 1962 and married Patricia Moore in 1971.
Mrs. Dugdale graduated from Columbia High School and
attended Western Business College. She worked for the White Salmon Valley
School District since 1955 and was the district’s business manager.
A scholarship fund has been established through
Klickitat Valley Bank in the Dugdales’ name.
A funeral service for all three was held Wednesday
morning at Gardner Funeral Home with interment following at White Salmon
Cemetery.

Patricia Louise Dugdale, 53, of White Salmon died in an automobile accident near
Mosier Saturday, July 14, along with her husband, Ronald Dean Dugdale, and her
father, Arthur Floyd Moore. She'd lived in White Salmon since she was 3.
She was born Dec. 20, 1936, in Pomona, Calif., to
Elizabeth A. (Teague) and Arthur F. Moore. The family moved here three years
later.
She graduated from Columbia High School and attended
Western Business College. She married Ron Dugdale Nov. 24, 1971.
She worked for the White Salmon Valley School District
since January, 1955, and was business manager. Mrs. Dugdale was secretary for
Husum Fire Department and received a 25-year silver citation.
Mrs. Dugdale loved to knit, crochet, read, garden and
study the Bible.
She is survived by sons Ron Dugdale of Seattle and Jim
Dugdale of Lynwood; sister Sara White of Yucca Valley, Calif.; brother Paul
Moore of McMinnville, Ore.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service held Wednesday for the Dugdales and
Mr. Moore at Gardner Funeral Home. Vault interment followed at the White Salmon
Cemetery.
A scholarship fund has been established through
Klickitat Valley Bank in her and tier husband's name. Contributions may be given
to the Dugdale Scholarship Fund in care of that bank.
