PHILLIP R. JONES
Funeral services for Phillip Roger Jones of Underwood
who died Sunday will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at Husum Church of
God. He was 58.
Pastors Jim McCormick and Philip Sandford will be
officiating. Committal will be at White Salmon Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born July 17, 1934 in Midwest, Wyo. to
Phyllis A. (Wilson) and Earl L. Jones. He grew up in Wyoming, moved to California
and served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean conflict. He
moved to the Mid-Columbia area about 30 years ago.
He and his brother operated Jones Brothers Logging. He
married Nancy Henderson in 1972 in Bingen. Mr. Jones was a member of the
Husum Church of God, and Mt. Adams Loggers Association. He loved to fish,
hunt and ride horses.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Underwood; mother
Phyllis A. Jones of Husum; sons, Daniel Jones of Underwood and Richard Jones
of Cascade Locks; stepson, Daniel Van Nice of The Dalles; brother, Jerry
Jones of Husum; sisters, Earlene Williams of Husum, JeNiene Moore of Mill
A; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter and
father.
Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
