RALPH ALBERT
Ralph Albert, a longtime White Salmon resident, died
April 15, 1999, at the Hood River Care Center, at the age of 88.
Mr. Albert was born May 5, 1910, in Middlebrook, Ark.,
to Charlie L. and Emily I. (Kerley) Albert. He traveled a lot as a youth.
He married Bessie Bunch on Jan. 11, 1935, in Soper, Okla. They lived in Texas,
then raised cattle in Oklahoma. The couple moved to White Salmon in 1952.
Mr. Albert worked at Dickey Farms, then for SDS Lumber
Co., retiring in 1973. He was baptized in the Baptist Church and attended
Grace Baptist Church in White Salmon. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He loved fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He
was very good natured and was loved by all. He was also an excellent
dancer.
Mr. Albert is survived by his wife, Bessie, White Salmon;
sons Talmage Albert, White Salmon, and Jeral Albert, Vancouver; daughters
Patricia Stephenson, White Salmon, and Linda Kay Cage, Woodland; and eight
grand-children and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Albert were held Monday, April 19, 1999,
at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Pastor Bob Ellison
officiating. Interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hood River Care Center Resident
Fund, 729 Henderson, Hood River, Ore. 97031.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home.
