RHODA A. BLEILER

     Former Glenwood teacher Rhoda A. Bleiler, formerly of White Salmon, died at home on July 18. She was 78.
     Mrs. Bleiler was born on Dec. 10, 1913 in Seattle to Blanche (Chambers) and Henry Ragge. She grew up in Seattle and graduated from Seattle Pacific. She was a teacher in Glenwood where she met Charlie O. Bleiler and married in 1942.      During World War II, the Bleilers moved around while Mr. Bleiler was in the service. They settled in Seattle for 5 years and transferred to San Jose, Calif. and lived there until 1980 before moving to White Salmon. About three years ago the Bleilers moved to Portland where she taught school for many years. She loved to sew and was a member of the Milwaukie First Baptist Church.
     She is survived by her husband Charlie of Portland; children, Charlanne Stere of League City, Texas, Stephen Bleiler of San Jose, Calif., and Paul Bleiler of San Jose, Calif; sisters, Stella Hodges of Portland, Ruth Jarrett of Seattle and Frances Higley of Seattle; five grandchildren.
     Funeral services were held last Thursday at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, followed by burial at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.

BLEILER

     Rhoda A. Bleiler,78, of Portland, Ore., (formerly of White Salmon, July 18, 1992, at home. She was born December 10, 1913, in Seattle to Blanche (Chambers) and Henry Ragge.
     Mrs. Bleiler grew up in Seattle, and graduated from Seattle Pacific. She was a teacher in Glenwood, where she met Charlie O. Bleiler. They were married in Seattle on April 15, 1942.
     During WW II they moved around while Mr. Bleiler was in the service, then settled in Seattle for four to five years. They transferred to San Jose, Calif., and lived there until 1980 when the moved to White Salmon. They moved to Portland about three years ago.
     Mrs. Bleiler taught school for many years and loved to sew. She was a member of the Milwaukie First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband Charlie Bleiler of Portland; three children, Charlanne Stere of League City, Texas, Stephen Bleiler and Paul Bleiler of San Jose, Calif; three sisters, Stella Hodges of Portland, Beth Jarrett and Frances Higley of Seattle; and five grandchildren.
     Contributions may be given to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund in White Salmon.
     Services were held Thursday, July 23, 1992, at 10 a.m., at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon with Reverend Robert Long officiating. Committal took place in Glenwood. Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
