DeHART
Ray E. DeHart, 75, of Goldendale died Wednesday, July
5, in Goldendale. He was born on November 10, 1913, in Franklin, N.C. to
Andrew J. and Nola DeHart.
He attended schools there and was united in marriage
to Clydell Cochran on January 17, 1936, in South Carolina.
The family came to Hood River in 1943 where he worked
in the timber industry. He opened a grocery store in Odell in 1964 and moved
to Goldendale in 1978 where he continued to work in the family grocery store.
DeHart was a member of the Centerville Grange and the senior citizens and
enjoyed singing, bee keeping and music.
He is survived by his wife Clydell; two daughters, Doris
Ihrig and Joyce Cochran of Goldendale; four sons, Ken and Jim of The Dalles,
Dillard of Mosier and Ray of Goldendale; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren
and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 8, 10a.m.,
in the First Baptist Church in Goldendale with Pastor Skip Mitchell officiating.
Interment was in Springcreek Cemetery under the direction of Knosher-Erdman
Funeral Home.
Pallbearers included Mike Rice, Dave Rahberger, Cord
Adams, Kenny DeHart, Eric DeHart and Bob Ihrig.
