RUTH A. LARGENT
Ruth A. Largent, longtime resident of the Goldendale
area, died Oct. 3, 1975. She was born at Cheney on Nov. 24, 1901. She attended
public school and graduated from Eastern Washington State College in Cheney.
She began her teaching career in Fruitland, Wash. and Enterprise, Ore. After
her marriage to Raleigh Largent in 1928 they farmed in Nebraska before moving
to Goldendale in 1939. She returned to teaching at the Pine Forest rural
school north of Goldendale. In 1942 she moved to the Centerville School and
continued teaching there until her retirement in 1966.
She is survived by her husband Raleigh, Goldendale; one
son Max, Goldendale; one granddaughter, Mrs. John (Kathy) Feil, Spokane and;
two grandsons, Russell Largent, Bellingham, and Wayne Largent, Goldendale;
and great grand-son, Michael Feil, Spokane; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Thiele
and Mrs. Florence Wiidanen, both of Spokane.
Services were held Tuesday at the Knosher Funeral Home
with Pastor Robert R. Robb officiating. Pallbearers were Hugh Cameron, Harold
and Lemoin Eshelman, William Olson, Quentin Jaekel and Ted Carratt.
Interment was in the Centerville Cemetery.
