BODY OF TRAIN VICTIM BURIED
The body of Ray Duane Alston, 35-45 years old, address
unknown, was given burial by Gardner's Funeral Service Sunday, June 25, in
the White Salmon Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Alston's body was found by an SP&S track inspector
at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24. he had evidently been hit by an eastbound
extra, Train 276 just east of Major Creek near Tunnel 7.
Contents of his pockets included 31 cents, his social
security card and addresses indicating he had been employed at tree farming
work.
