     Mrs. Phipps Dead - Mrs. Rachel Arminda Phipp, wife of John S. Phipps, who died on her 69th birthday anniversary at her home at 1500 Laurel street, will be buried at Hartland, Wash., Monday. Services will be held from Callaway's chapel at 10 o'clock Monday morning, and the body will be taken to the Washington town for interment. Mrs. Phipps had lived in the city of about three years. She was born in Polk county, November 24, 1857, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Davidson. Besides her widower, she leaves four daughters, Mrs. J.H. McCoy, Hartland, Mrs. E.O. Wilson and Mrs. H.F. Deardorff of The Dalles, and Mrs. James Tebbs of Schulavista, Cal.; a son, C.A. Phipps of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Cornelius of Forest Grove, Mrs. Ollie Wells, McCoy, Ore., and Mrs. Dolly Sailing of Newport; 23 grandchildren and one great grand child. She has been ill some time.

OBITUARY

     Mrs. Arminda (Davidson) Phipps, 68, wife of the late John S. Phipps, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Deardorff, The Dalles, Oregon, on November 24, 1926.
     She was born in Polk county, Oregon on November 24, 1858, and at the are of nineteen she married John Phipps. They made their home on Center Ridge, eight miles southeast from Boyd, Oregon, for many years. Later they moved to Washington.
     Mrs. Phipps is survived by four daughters and one son: Mrs. J.H. McCoy, Hartland, Wash.; Mrs. E.O. Wilson, The Dalles, Ore.; Mrs. H.F. Deardorff, The Dalles, Ore.; Mrs. J.D. Tebbs, Chula Vista, Calif.; and C.A. Phipps, The Dalles, Ore. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren  and one great grandchild.
     The remans were interred in the family lot of the Hartland cemetery.

"Hartland"

     Mrs. J.H. McCoy received word Wednesday night that her mother Mrs. J. Phipps, had passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Blanche Deardorff, in The Dalles. Mrs. Phipps was quite well known here, as they made their home in this section for several years about twelve years ago, and she will be remembered by all for her kindly deeds, as no one was more willing and ready to help out in sickness or trouble than Mrs. Phipps. She was 68 years old the day she died, November 24. Her body was brought here Monday where it was laid to rest amid a profusion of beautiful flowers. Mrs. McCoy has the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of her mother.

"Local Happenings"

     Mrs. Rachel Arminda Phipps, who passed away at her home in The Dalles last week, on her 68th birthday anniversary, was buried at Hartland Monday, funeral services being held at The Dalles that day. She was born in Polk county, Oregon, on November 24th, 1858. She leaves four daughters: Mrs. J.H. McCoy, Hartland; Mrs. E.O. Wilson and Mrs. H.F. Deardorff, The Dalles; and Mrs. James Tebbs, Chula Vista, Cal.; also a son, C.A. Phipps, of The Dalles, Ore., and three sisters. She had been ill for some time.
