RAY BLIGH
Ray Bligh, a resident of Carson since 1964, died Aug.
25 at Carson. He was 91.
He was born Aug. 8, 1897 in Wolf Creek, Ore., to Lawrence
C. and Ella J. (Rose) Craven. Mr. Bligh grew up in Oregon and moved with
his family to Washington when he was 10. He moved around a lot during his
childhood, picking fruit. He also worked in the woods for the Hollenbecks
in Trout Lake. Mr. Bligh retired in 1964 and moved to Carson.
He is survived by his children, Edna Hanken of Centralia,
Stanley Craven, a resident of Washington; Margie Arthurs of Tenino, Lawrence
Craven of Battle Ground, Jack Bligh of Mill A, Ruby Baker of Tenino, Erdine
Holter of Portland, Ore., Dick Meyers of Chehalis, Charlotte Caldwell of
White Salmon, Elmer Bligh of Stevenson, Alden Bligh of Carson, Philip Venden
of Spangle, Anice Venden of Chelan, Jean Venter of Terrebone, Ore., and Joan
Ehrlich of Yakima; and 35 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mr. Bligh were held Saturday,
Aug. 27, at the Trout Lake Cemetery. The Rev. Fermon Obias officiated.

SERVICES HELD FOR RAY BLIGH
Graveside services were held Aug. 27 at Trout Lake, WA
for Ray Bligh who passed away at his home in Carson, Aug. 25. He resided
in Carson for 25 years.
Mr. Bligh turned 91 on Aug. 8 and enjoyed good health
until a few weeks before his death. He was born at Wolf Creek, Oregon, August
8, 1897.
He had worked as a millwright in Anacortes, WA from 1917
to 1927. As a surveyor for the state of Washington, Bonneville Power
Administration and the city of Vancouver in the 30's and early 40's. He was
a saw filer and millwright at Trout lake for Hollenbeck Lumber Company until
1949 and held various other jobs over the years. His hobbies were tinkering
with metals, wood and telling stories.
Survivors are sons: Alden, Carson; Elmer, Stevenson;
Jack, Mill A; Larry Craven, Battle Ground, WA; Dick Myers, Chehalis, WA;
Stanley Craven, Washington, Phillip Venden, Omak, WA.
Daughters: Edna Hanken, Centralia, WA; Margie Arthurs,
Tenino, WA; Ruby Baker, Tenino, WA; Erdine Holter, Portland, Oregon; Charlotte
Caldwell, White Salmon, WA; Anice Venden, Chelan, WA; twins Jean Venter,
Terrebonne, Oregon and Joan Ehrlich, Yakima, WA.
Also surviving are 35 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren
and close friend and companion Kathy Baker of Centralia, WA.
