ROBERT BEACH

     On March 13, 2007, Robert Carlos Beach died in Hood River, Ore. He was 80 years old. Born in Molen, Utah, on Aug. 14, 1926, Mr. Beach was the youngest child of Julia "Bertha" (Larsen) and Albert Orlando Beach.
     He enjoyed his childhood, going to school and being raised on a farm in Utah. At the age of 17, he joined the Navy and served for three years. On Oct. 26, 1946, he married Leitta "Lorene" Moseley in Camden, Ark.
     After serving his country, Mr. Beach settled in Utah where he herded sheep and cattle. He and his family later relocated to Corvallis, Ore., living there for 34 years as he worked in the plywood mills. They later moved to Mesa, Ariz., before settling in Lyle in 2003. Mr. Beach loved horses and was an accomplished craftsman who worked in wood and leather.
     Survivors include his wife Lorene of Lyle; daughter Bertha Tucker, Bristo, Va.; son Gary Beach, Lyle; son Max Beach, Troutdale, Ore.; sister Irva Anne Davis, Grandberry, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
     A funeral service for Mr. Beach was held on Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon with interment at the Lyle Balch Cemetery.
