R.C. CHARTERS DIES FROM PNEUMONIA

     R.C. charters, longtime resident and property holder of this community died Wednesday night at The Dalles hospital, where he was taken this week to be treated for pneumonia.
     Details of the funeral arrangements were not available at press time yesterday.

FUNERAL FOR ROBERT CHARLES CHARTERS HELD LAST SUNDAY

     Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 P.M. at the Bingen church for Robert Charles Charters, who had lived on his ranch near Bingen for nearly 35 years.
     He was born in Bariboo, Wisconsin, in 1863 and passed away at The Dalles, Oregon, hospital on Thursday, April 20th. Burial was in the family plot in the White Salmon Odd Fellows cemetery.
     Deceased is survived by his widow Mrs. Maggie Charters; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Scott, of Yakima, Washington; Mrs. Janette Davis, of Michigan, and Mrs. Mary Hanke, of Bingen; two sons, Robert Charters, of Bingen, and Perry Charters, of Michigan, besides seven grandsons and one granddaughter.
