BOB McNEEL
On Aug. 24, 2006, Bob McNeel, 79, died at his home in
White Salmon. Born Robert Charles McNeel, the son of Etheline Grace (Porter)
and Homer Dwight McNeel, he was born in Trout Lake on Feb. 8, 1927.
He grew up in Trout Lake and spent most of his life there,
with the exception of a few years he spent in Vancouver. On June 26, 2004,
he married Karen Eileen Oke. Mr. McNeel made his living as a farmer, operating
his own dairies.
Mr. McNeel enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, and,
never one to waste the day away, he was known as an early riser.
Mr. McNeel was a member of the White Salmon Christian
Assembly and he loved to travel.
Survivors include his wife, Karen McNeel, of White Salmon;
daughter Peggy Armstrong, Burns, Ore.; son Robert Charles McNeel, Jr., Seattle;
daughter Martha Weekes, Vancouver; daughter Linda Allen, Charlotte, N.C.;
daughter Joyce Brooks, Vancouver; son John McNeel, Vancouver; sister Ruth
Caryl of Omak; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. McNeel were held at 1 p.m. on
Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the White Salmon Christian Assembly with Pastor Ken
Rieper officiating. Mr. McNeel was laid to rest beside his parents in the
Trout Lake Cemetery.
