RICHARD DONALD CONBOY

     Richard Donald Conboy passed away Tuesday August first in a Portland hospital where he had been rushed for polio treatment.
     Richard, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Orie L. Conboy, was born March 14, 1937 in Hood River, Oregon. His brothers and sisters are: William and Leslie, Olex, Oregon, Mrs. Lorraine Talbert of Olex and Mrs. June Moller, Ontario, Oregon.
     Dick as he was called spent the first eight years of his life in the Glenwood Valley where he started to school. Afterwards he moved with his family to Lone Rock, Oregon and later to Olex where the family now resides.
     He was a member of the 4-H group of Gilliam County, Oregon and received a scholarship for 4-H summer school at Oregon State College which he attended in June. He was granted this honor for his greatest improvement in health of any boy in the county.
     He attended public school and Sunday school in Olex. He was an officer and an active member of the Mikkalo Juvenile Grange.
     Dick had a winning smile and was loved bay all who knew him. He was especially a favorite among the older people who thought that Dick was "tops." Besides his immediate family he leaves his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wright of Trout Lake, Wash. and many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
     Rev. Appleby of Condon, Oregon officiated at the family services held Friday, August 4th., from the Glenwood Community church. Mrs. Fred Fellers and Mrs. Homer Babcock sang with Mrs. George Andrews accompanist. Pallbearers were Fred and Edward Holly, Jackie Jones, James Bolt, Larry Babcock and Reed Bergland all of Glenwood. Richard was interred in the Glenwood cemetery near his paternal grandfather, the late Peter B. Conboy.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.

God in his wisdom, has recalled,
The boon his love had given,
And though his body slumbers here,
His soul is safe in Heaven.

     We wish to take this means of expressing our heartfelt thanks to the many friends for the words of sympathy, kind deeds and floral offerings at the time of our recent bereavement.

DICK CONBOY OF GLENWOOD DIES OF INFANTILE PARALYSIS
