"Trout Lake Valley Items"
Mrs. and Mrs. G.H. Depue of Husum, and F.A. Depue of
White Salmon, were called here last week by the death of their father, R.D.
Depue.
Mr. R.D. Depue passed away Thursday morning, January
10th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.L. Knight. Burial was at the Trout
Lake Cemetery on Friday.
Mr. Depue was born in Pennsylvania in 1848. He served
in the Rebellion in Company F. 17th Regiment of Illinois Cavalry. As the
funeral procession passed the school the school house teachers and school
children came outside, saluted, and sang "Tenting Tonight" which mark of
respect was much appreciated by relatives and friends.
Mr. Depue leaves four children to mourn his loss; Mrs.
A.L. Knight and Mrs. E.C. Cole of Trout Lake. G.H. Depue of Husum and F.A.
