RAYMOND DUGGER
Raymond Dolphas Dugger, a longtime at Bingen resident,
died Oct. 7, 2000, in Hood River, Ore., at the age of 92.
Mr. Dugger was born Nov. 4, 1907 in Paden, Okla., to
David and Virginia (Adams) Bridges, but he was raised by Edgar Dugger. In
the late 1930s, he moved to Bingen. Mr. Dugger entered the army on March
3, 1941, and served in the South Pacific during World War II. On September
14, 1945, he was discharged in Fort Lewis.
He returned to Bingen and later met Derkye Johnson Cox.
They were married on Jan. 15, 1961, and lived in Bingen where he drove a
log truck for a SDS Lumber Company. Mr. and Mrs. Dugger lived in Bingen for
many years until moving to Stevenson five months ago.
Mr. Dugger enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle and basketball.
He was a member of the V.F.W.
Mr. Dugger is survived by his wife, Derkye, Stevenson;
former daughter-in-law Jackie Ziegler, Underwood; grandson Dennis Cox, Seattle;
granddaughter Dawn Dorsch, Hamilton, N.J.; grandchildren and Kyle and Kelsie
Cox, Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside Service for Mr. Dugger will be held today,
Oct. 12, 2000, at 1 p.m. in the White Salmon Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home, White
Salmon.
