ROSE E. CARLTON SERVICES TODAY
Rose E. Carlton, 91, died July 16 at a nursing home in
La Center, Wash. She was born December 12, 1876, the daughter of Martha Jane
and Robert M. Clemons in Kansas. She started west with her parents on October
7, 1887.
Only a few families were living in White Salmon when
they arrived to make their home for many years. She later moved to Montesano
where she lived for several years before returning to White Salmon to again
make her home.
She was united in marriage to Jesse Richardson who passed
away in 1947.
She moved to Washougal in 1948 and was united in marriage
to Dwight Carlton. They made their home there until his death in 1948. She
was a member of the Christian Church at Washougal where she lived until entering
the nursing home at LaCenter.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 20 at 2 p.m.
at Gardner's Funeral Home in White Salmon with Rev. Roger Clevenger officiating.
Interment was at Goodwill Cemetery, White Salmon.
She leaves one sister, Mrs. Rachel Morehead of Wahkiacus
and many nieces and nephews.
