RALPH EDWARD HUNTER
Ralph Edward Hunter was born on January 10, 1891 to Edward
and Emma Hunter near Goldendale in the old Crossroads District and died in
Goldendale on November 21, 1969. He was 78 years, 11 months and 11 days of
age. He was united in marriage to Ethel Miller in Sunnyside on July 7, 1922
and to this union three children were born.
Ralph was a farmer all of his life until about 12 years
ago when illness forced retirement. He continued to live on the home place
up to the past few months when he was in the hospital and the Simcoe Manor
Nursing Home.
Ralph was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goldendale
and was a very active member of the church and the community. He was a member
of the Spring Creek school board for several years and also a board member
of the Goldendale school district.
He served his country during World War I in the Marine
Corps and on the USS Florida. He was a member of the American Legion in
Goldendale.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife Ethel,
three children, Irvin Hunter and Peggy Storkel of Goldendale and Lavona
Fraychineaud of Gig Harbor, WA: a sister, Mrs. Edith Home of Wishram; a brother,
Ted Hunter of Bend, OR.; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, two nephews,
two nieces and many cousins and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were H.W. Freer, Ernest Counts,
Chris Adams, Guy Moore, C.H. Campbell and Lee Darland. Active pallbearers
were Lee Ritter, Les Jobe, Ray Hill, Paul Pickering, Pete Simmons and Charles
Atkins.
