ROSE E. WILSON
Rose E. Wilson, a longtime Trout Lake and White Salmon
resident, died of natural causes at Skyline Hospital Feb. 22, at the age
of 93.
Mrs. Wilson was born Sept. 28, 1894, in Monroe, Wis.,
to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Elmer. At the age of 10 she moved with her family
to the Trout Lake Valley, where she lived most of her life until her husband
died. She married Rex A. Wilson Sr. on June 23, 1919, in Vancouver. He preceded
her in death in 1967. In her early years as she worked as a cook and waitress,
but was mostly a homemaker for her husband and three sons. She enjoyed playing
cards, bowling and keeping in good health by walking two miles each day and
riding her exercise bicycle for a half hour each day. Her special love was
bowling, which she enjoyed with the senior citizens league, any league or
any bowler she could find including family members. She particularly enjoyed
the lanes at Salmon Bowl in White Salmon.
She is survived by her sons, Rex Wilson Jr., White Salmon,
Melvin, Tacoma, and Lawrence, Saudi Arabia; one sister, Leona Nelson, Phoenix,
Ariz.; two brothers, Walter Elmer, Portland, and Dick Elmer, Tigard, Ore.;
16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Wilson were held Wednesday at 1 p.m.
at the Bethel Congregational Church in White Salmon, with Rev. Arthur Dickie
officiating. Interment was in the White Salmon Cemetery.
