SCOTT
Roscoe Scott, 76, Goldendale, died Thursday, Jan. 31,
1991, at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1914 in Wauneta, Neb. to W. Roy and
Carrie Scott. After graduating from high school he moved to Klickitat, where
he began his employment with J. Neils Lumber Company.
He married Dorothy Klinger on Aug. 25, 1940 in White
Salmon.
Mr. Scott retired from the mill as a saw filer and relief
supervisor, later working part-time at a molding mill near Wahkiacus. He
also served as delegate, district president for nine years and financial
secretary of Local Lumber and Sawmill Workers AFL-CIO No. 2085 at Klickitat.
Mr. Scott was an avid sports fan and served as a referee
and umpire for high school sports throughout the area; he also was a sportscaster
for Klickitat's town baseball team for several years. He was a member of
the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Goldendale and also enjoyed wood-working
and square dancing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 1990,
and one son, Wayne.
Survivors include one son, Gerald, Vancouver, and his
three sons: Mark, Mike and Monte; three grand daughters: Anita Havens,
Goldendale; Faye Kiser, Portland; and Nancy Scott, New Britain, Conn.; two
great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne, Beaumont, Tex.; two sisters, Vernice
Connor, Wichita, Kan. and Arlene Stinnette, Hastings, Neb.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 8
at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Thomas V. Lane as
celebrant. Rosary will be held Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity
Church. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the care of
Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include William Bush, Jerry Olney, Daryl
McKay, John Bellamy, Don Bellamy II and Bruce Hyder.
