LOGGING CAMP WORKER KILLED IN ACCIDENT
Robert Warner, 26, Hit on head by choker at Eastern and Western Camp: Skull
Fractured
Robert Warner, 26, died late last night at St. Mary's
hospital here of injuries received when he was struck on the head by a choker
at noon yesterday in the Eastern and Western Lumber Company's camp near here.
Warner was rushed to the hospital immediately after the
accident, his skull fractured, and with little hope expressed for his recovery.
Physicians and surgeons worked over him all yesterday afternoon, but the
terrible injuries to the skull resulted in death last night.
John Warner of Milwaukie, Ore., father of the dead youth,
has been notified of the accident and is expected to reach Astoria today.

Remains of John Warren, 26, killed in a logging accident at the Eastern and Western company camp yesterday, are at the E.G. Hughes parlors pending funeral arrangements which are awaiting the arrival of relatives.
