IN MEMORIAM
Rachel Jane Bruster was born in Cole Co., Ill., Sept.
7, 1854. She moved to Cedar Co., Mo., in company with her parents in 1870
and was married to Robert Chaney, June 7th, 1874. They moved from Missouri
to Arizona in 1878 and from Arizona to this state, 1884, where the family
and have since remained.
She was the mother of 12 children. Her husband and three
of the children have passed on before her to that better world. She professed
a hope in Christ some time in her early life, and was baptized into the
fellowship of the Missionary Baptist church at Spring creek, June, 1899.
Mrs. Chaney suffered of lung trouble for several years
and during the later part of her sickness often expressed a desire to depart
this life and be at rest. She died November 8, 1900, at her home on Spring
creek, being 46 years 2 months and one day old.
She leaves nine children, three boys and six girls, and
many friends to mourn her absence.
The funeral services were conducted by Elder J.E. Adams
at the schoolhouse. Then she was laid to rest in the cemetery waiting that
glorious appearing of our Savior when he comes to be glorified in his saints.
