RICKA L. HUNSAKER
Ricka L. Hunsaker, 75, who lived her entire life in White
Salmon, died March 31 in Portland. Funeral was Monday at Gardner Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Frederick Haag officiating. Interment was in White Salmon.
Mrs. Hunsaker was born February 2, 1903, in Trout Lake
to Jacob and Hendrika Claterbos. She was raised by her grandmother, Willamina
Wyers, in White Salmon.
After high school, she attended the University of Washington.
She married Walter Hunsaker June 21, 1923, and in 1973 they celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Hunsaker is survived by her husband; a son, Harry,
and a daughter-in-law, Marje; three grandchildren, Ann and John Hunsaker
and Terry Tincher; a great-granddaughter, Mimi Marie; and several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Walter, in 1945,
and by three brothers, Harry, Bill and Lou Claterbos.
She was a Gold Star Mother, a member of the P.E.O., and
a Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. She belonged to the American Legion
Auxiliary, Daughters of the Nile, Horticulture Society, and Bethel Congregational
Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society,
c/o Vada Yarnell, White Salmon; or to Memorial Fund, Bethel Congregational
Church, White Salmon.
