ROGER L. SHIELDS

     Roger L. Shields, a native Mid-Columbia resident, died Sunday at his home in Tumwater, Wash., following a lengthy illness, at the age of 38.
     Mr. Shields was born March 28, 1947, in The Dalles, to Mr. and Mrs. Ottis Shields. He was raised in Lyle until 1962 when he moved to Stevenson. He graduated from Stevenson High School in 1965. He was a warehouseman and a member of the Church of the Living Water.
     He is survived by his wife, Corale Shields, Tumwater; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ottis Shields, Lyle; sons, Curt and Ryan, Tumwater; sister, Linda Tuekk, Bellevue; and a grandmother, Lula Shields, Gilmer, Texas.
     Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral home in White Salmon, with Pastor Chuck Lind and Pastor Tom Hoey officiating. Interment was in Balch Cemetery, Lyle.
     Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
