ROBERT VOIGT
Robert Leo Voigt, a White Salmon area resident, died
Jan. 3, 1999, at the age of 81.
Mr. Voigt was born July 5, 1917, in Halliday, N.D., to
Ferdinand and Myrtle (Cooper) Voigt. He served in the Army during World War
II. After his discharge, he split his time between North Dakota and White
Salmon, ranching and logging.
He had lived in the area permanently since 1987. Since
that time, he had been in charge of the white-water launching site at BZ
Corners - a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Mr. Voigt was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church
and the Eagles Lodge. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid cribbage
player. He also loved to cook and bake.
Mr. Voigt is survived by his sister Estella Kock, White
Salmon; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Voigt, White Salmon, and Ann Voigt, Halliday,
N.D.; and nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Voigt will be held Saturday,
Jan. 9, 1999, at 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home, with Father Dahlquist
officiating. Interment will be at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
in care of Gardner Funeral Home, who was in charge of the arrangements.
