     BUSINESS MAN SUICIDES. - R.M. Merriman, a prominent businessman at Centerville, was found dead in bed at his ranch eight miles from that town, with a bullet hole through his head, on Sunday morning, Sept. 27. The body was lying on its back and in one hand was a newspaper, while the other clutched a revolver with one chamber empty. Merriman had evidently been dead for several days, and there is little doubt that he died by his own hand, although no reason and can be assigned for such an act. Coroner Sanders went to the scene Sunday afternoon, and satisfying himself that it was a case of suicide, did not deem an inquest necessary. The deceased was about 40 years of age and leaves a wife and child who reside at Centerville. The funeral was held on Monday, the attendance being quite large.
