MESECHER
Mrs. Rose Mesecher, 89, of Goldendale died Wednesday,
April 17 in Goldendale. She was born July 1, 1901 in Edgar, Neb. to Daniel
and Clara Hart. She attended schools in Edgar until the family moved to Payette,
Idaho, where she graduated from high school. She later attended normal school
and taught school for two years.
She and Charles E. Mesecher were married June 14, 1925
in Payette. The couple came to Goldendale and farmed here for many years.
Mr. Mesecher died in 1967.
Mrs. Mesecher was a member of the First Baptist Church
in Goldendale, Order of Eastern Star Evergreen Chapter No. 1 in Goldendale,
Goldendale Grange No. 49 and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed needle
work, going to the Goldendale Senior Center and being with people. Survivors
include two daughters, Mrs. Marian Holly, Glenwood and Mrs. Fern Humphreys,
The Dalles; two sons, Charles L. (Bud) Mesecher, Goldendale and Gail E. Mesecher,
Portland; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, April 22 in the Chapel
of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Skip Mitchell of the First Baptist
Church officiating. Interment was in Spring Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Dale Humphreys, Fred Holly, Greg
Krueger, Randy Mesecher, Mark Mesecher and Emmett Miller. Honorary Pallbearers
were George Willis, Dick Sellers, Ed Van Aelst and Art Winterstein.
