ROY FELLER
Roy Feller, 86, of Glenwood, died at the Hood River Care
Center on June 22, 2002.
He was born April 13,1916 in Glenwood to Fred and Tressie
(Bertschi) Feller. Roy grew up in Glenwood, graduated from high school and
continued to live and farm his entire life in the Glenwood valley. On July
6,1939 Roy married Eva Huffsmith and was happily married for 63 years. He
was a devoted father and husband, and was always helping others in their
time of need.
Roy loved music. He especially loved to play his saxophone,
which he had played in years past in dance bands - including while on vacation
in Mexico. He loved traveling in the winter months to Arizona and Mexico.
Fishing in Mexico was one event he really looked forward to every winter.
Roy and Eva also joined a dance group after retiring.
They did a lot of dancing, especially polka, which was his favorite dance.
He worked for several years for the public utility. Roy was a lifetime member
of the Mt. Adams B.P.O.E. 1868.
His sister, Verena, and one grandson, preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his wife, Eva, of Glenwood; two sons,
Ronald and his wife, Debbie, and Allen and his wife, Fran, both of Glenwood;
six grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Gardner Funeral Home on Friday,
June 29, from noon to 5 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Glenwood
Mt. Adams Cemetery on Saturday, June 29 at 11a.m. A potluck luncheon will
follow at the Glenwood School.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the
Gorge, c/o Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, which is in charge of
arrangements.
