SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR RAY GURNSEY

     Ray R. Gurnsey was born Oct. 25, 1890 in Elkerton, Wn., the son of Annie and Logan L. Gurnsey.
     He had been a resident of the Husum community since 1907. He was a veteran of World War I.
     He passed away April 19th at Skyline Hospital where he was admitted April 11th following an automobile accident.
     Surviving are his wife: Lillian L. Gurnsey of Husum; three brothers: Lewis of Washougal, Ray of White Salmon, and Arthur of Shelton, Wash.
     Three sisters: Mary Overbaugh of Athena, Oregon, Pearl O'Conner of Funn Rock, Oregon and Inza Hays of Oregon City, Oregon.
     Three step-daughters: Mary Gaither of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. June Browning of Portland, and Pearl Mitchell of Husum, Washington.
     Funeral services were held Monday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. in Gardner's Funeral home with Rev. Coulson of Human officiating.

AUTO ACCIDENT FATAL TO OLD-TIME RESIDENT

     Ray R. Gurnsey passed away at Skyline hospital Thursday, April 19 from injuries sustained in an auto accident Tuesday, April 10.
     He was born October 25, 1890 in Elkerton, Washington and has made his home since 1907 in Husum. To all in the area he was affectionately known as "Moose" and to every logger he was a friend. For many years he pursued the logging trade.
     From October 15, 1917 to June 6, 1919 he served his country and W.W. I as a corporal in the 11th company of the 20th Engineers.
     He is survived by his wife, Lillian, three brothers: Louis, Washougal, Arthur, Shelton; and Roy at White Salmon; three sisters: Mary Overbaugh, Athena, Ore.; Pearl O'Conner, Finn Rock, Ore., and Inza Hayes, Oregon City; and three step-daughters, Mary Gaither and June Browning of Portland and Pearl Mitchell of Husum.
     Services were conducted by Gardners at 10:30 Monday, April 23 with burial in the Odd Fellows cemetery in White Salmon. A military graveside service was conducted by the T.L. American Legion Post of which he was long a member. The Rev. Mr. Coulson of Husum officiated and Mrs. Kenneth Gardner sang.
     Pall bearers were Gut Jones, Lawrence Daniels, Russell Hendryx, Harry Haley, Cecil Barfoot, and Lawrence Meyers.
