REUBEN JONES
Reuben R. Jones, a Lyle resident, died Feb. 3 at Skyline
Hospital in White Salmon, at the age of 81.
Mr. Jones was born March 5, 1904, in Howell County, Missouri,
to Richard and Susan Jones. He was raised in Missouri and worked on the railroad,
in flour mills and on oil wells. He came to Washington in 1943 and settled
in Yakima, where he worked in fruit and produce. He came to the White Salmon
area in 1975 and has lived in Lyle since September.
He married Anna M. Daniels Aug. 25, 1927 in Mt. View,
Mo. He was a member of The Dalles Seventh Day Adventist Church. He loved
to travel, fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Anna, Lyle; children, Helen
Burris, Colo., Jean Burris, Lyle, and Vinita Kollmar, Bingen; brother, Meredith
Jones, Whitesboro, Texas; sister, Leta Burgess, Wyoming; 21 grandchildren,
29 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandson.
Services were held Friday at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral
Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Don Kack officiating. Interment was at the
White Salmon Cemetery.
