R.R. PEELER DIES FROM HEART ATTACK

     Funeral services for Ronald R. Peeler, who died from a heart attack at his home Friday, November 10, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Gardner Funeral Chapel. Dr. George W. Bruce of Gresham officiated. Burial was at the Oddfellows Cemetery with the Masonic Lodge in charge.
     Roland Roscoe Peeler was born in O'Neill, Nebraska, April 19, 1901. He came to the White Salmon area in his early twenties and had been a resident for 29 years. He served two terms as mayor of White Salmon and was active in civic and fraternal affairs.
     He was a member of the Masons, Eastern Star, Elks, Oddfellows, Rebekahs and Sheriff's Posse and during the war was vice-commander of the local Coast Guard Auxiliary unit.
     Pall bearers at the service were Earl Dean, Henry Lauterbach, William Lauterbach, Teunis Wyers, Steven Wnuk, and Forrest Walker. Honorary bearers were Guy Crowe, John Wyers, John Lauterbach, Lyle Enos, Bert Heaman and Roy Heaman.
     Surviving are his wife, Jessie; a daughter, Patsy and a son, Roland, besides other relatives and friends.
