SHULL
Mr. Raymond Royd Shull, 69, of Goldendale died on Friday,
June 9, in Camp Verde, Ariz. He was born Aug. 10, 1919 in Riley, Kan. to
John and Eula Shull and was raised and educated in Kansas and Colorado before
moving to Washington - coming to Goldendale in 1939.
Shull operated the Green Medo Dairy for several years
before selling it to take up farming. He and Mary Ellen McCartan and were
united in marriage in Sept. of 1949, and they moved to Ellensburg where they
operated a sheep ranch. They returned to Goldendale in 1952 to farm in the
Crofton Prairie area and later farmed in the Centerville area until ill health
forced his retirement.
Shull was a long time member of the Centerville Grange,
a supervisor on the Central Klickitat Soil Conservation District, served
on the Centerville School Board and served many terms on the board of directors
of Klickitat Valley Grain Growers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley
Schessler. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; four daughters, Jessica
Reeves of Camp Verde, Ariz., Linda Shull-Rich of Keams Canyon, Ariz., two
brothers, Darold Shull of Spokane, John Shull of Hermiston; one sister, Althea
Watts also of Hermiston; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 16, at
2 p.m. in the Chapel of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor George Sonray
of Christ the King Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the
Centerville Cemetery. Memorials will be made to Alzheimers Research Program,
C/O University of Washington School of Medicine (PP-10) Seattle, WA 98195.
