ROY RAY SLOCUM TAKEN BY DEATH
Roy Ray Slocum, 54, of Route 4, Randle, Wa. a former
resident of the local area, died suddenly Sunday, July 28. They had been
living at Randle the past ten months and resided in this locality from about
1951 to 1963. He was a sawmill worker. He was born Jan. 2, 1914 at Okmulgee,
Oklahoma.
Survivors include his widow, Dora Florence, of Randle;
three sons, Alvin Ray Slocum of Washougal; Calvin R. Slocum of Packwood and
Ivan Slocum of White Salmon; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Opal) Wilson of
White Salmon; Mrs. Merle (Doris) Reeves of Husum and Miss Sharon Lawler of
Clinton, Mo.; a brother, Harve Slocum of Osceola, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs.
Eva Beavers of Osceola, Mo.; Mrs. Georgia Baumgarden, Mrs. Jessie Baumgarden
and Mrs. Helen Holmes all of Bingen and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday August 2, at 11 a.m.
at Grace Baptist Church at White Salmon, with Rev. William Newkirk officiating.
Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery at White Salmon.
