H. WELLENBROCK SERVICES HELD AT GLENWOOD
Robert R. Wellenbrock, son of Anton and Louise Wellenbrock,
passed away Saturday morning April 13th in Goldendale after a long illness.
He was born in Glenwood June 22, 1886 and spent most of his 81 years of life
farming in the Glenwood Valley.
In 1939 on November 16th he was united in marriage to
Mrs. Myrtle Albritton Smith. She preceded him in death on May 29th, 1961.
Robert was very interested in Grange affairs and was a member in good standing
for over fifty years. He was also a member of the Glenwood Pioneer Association.
For the past five years he and his sister, Bertha Fraiser made their home
at the Klickitat Historical Museum in Goldendale. Robert's remarkable memory
contributed much interest with his talks to visitors on the tours he conducted
through the museum. He was a friend to many people in Glenwood and throughout
all the neighboring towns.
Surviving are three sisters: Bertha Fraiser of Goldendale,
Washington; Anna Avery of White Salmon, Washington; and Louise McKinney of
Chico, California. A brother, George Wellenbrock of Glenwood, Washington.
A sister, Nina Booher and a brother, Harry Wellenbrock both preceded Robert
in death.
Funeral services for Robert Wellenbrock were held Wednesday,
April 17th at 11 a.m. in the Pioneer Memorial Church at Glenwood with the
Rev. Mr. M.B. Ketcham of Goldendale officiating. Interment was in the Mt.
Adams Cemetery at Glenwood, Washington. Active Casket bearers: Walter
Wellenbrock, Homer Babcock, Albert Booher, Frank Gangle, Sr., Harold Wellenbrock,
Earl Barnes. Honorary bearers: Fred Feller, Herman Kuhnhausen, Frank Lyle,
Ward McEwen, Osmar Kuhnhausen, Bill Hornibrook.

Funeral services will be held at Glenwood Pioneer Memorial
Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday for Robert R. Wellenbrock, 81, who died at the
Simcoe Manor Nursing Home in Goldendale Saturday.
The Rev. Mr. M.B. Ketcham of Goldendale will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mount Adams Cemetery, Glenwood.
Wellenbrock, who had been a farmer at Glenwood in earlier
years, was born at Glenwood June 22, 1886.
He was married on Nov. 16, 1938 to Mrs. Myrtle Allbritton
Smith, who is deceased.
Wellenbrock was a 50-year member of the Glenwood Grange,
a member of Klickitat County Historical Society and Glenwood Pioneer Association.
He and his sister, Mrs. Bertha Fraiser of Goldendale
were residents of the Klickitat County historical Museum at Goldendale and
served as caretakers and guides at the building.
Others surviving in addition to Mrs. Frasier are two
sisters, Mrs. Louise McKinney of Chico, Calif., and Mrs. Anna Avery of White
Salmon, and a brother, George, of Glenwood.

Klickitat county lost one of her typical native sons when R.R. Wellenbrock died Saturday. Best known at Goldendale as Historical Museum host and custodian, he was a Glenwood farmer, a Federal Land Bank director, a Granger.
