ROBERT WILSON SHORT
Robert Wilson Short, 87, of Goldendale, died June 3,
2004, at The Dalles Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25,1916, in Cliffs, near Goldendale,
to Ari and Minnie Short, and attended at Cliffs and the Goldendale area all
his life, except for the last three years.
Short married Nellie Lucille Beeks. They lived in Maryhill,
and later moved to Towal. Short worked for the SP&S Railroad, which later
became the Burling-ton Northern, as a laborer, and later became section foreman
until his retirement.
Short had many hobbies, including being a handyman, if
it was broken, he could fix it. He was a rock hound, a treasure hunter, and
enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and gathering wild mushrooms.
His parents, a grandson, his sister, Helen Scholl, and
his wife, Lucille, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Lowery Short and Marshall
Lee Short, both of Goldendale; grandchildren, Javier Short of Goldendale,
Dunnia Danisher of Lacey, Jessika Short of Portland, Kaissa Hart of Las Vegas,
Nev., Wyoming, and Amie O'Brien of Dallesport; his great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Marcela Spalding and Margaret McKune, both of Goldendale; a niece
and two nephews.
The family will hold a private inurnment at Pleasant
Valley Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Erdman Funeral Home.
