MRS. JOHN ACKLEY PASSES AWAY

     Sara Ann Bowden was born in Johnson county, Iowa, September 25, 1846 and died in White Salmon, Wash., March 19, 1921, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 21 days.
     She was married to John Ackley July 16, 1867, at iowa City, Iowa. To this union were born three sons and one daughter. G.E. Ackley, of Gladstone, Oregon; C.N. Ackley, J.B. Ackley and Mrs. D.W. Plank, of White Salmon, Wash.
     She was converted at the age of twelve years and have ever since lived an active Christian life. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Baptist church of Gladstone, Ore. She was also an active member of Mead Post No. 18; Woman's Relief Corps and held the office of Chaplain in that organization at the time of her death.
     She passed from this life at the home of her son, C.N. Ackley, in White Salmon, Wash., leaving besides her husband and her three sons and one daughter, three sisters and two brothers, nine grand-children and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held in the Congregational church in White Salmon, Sunday afternoon, March 20th, conducted by the pastor, Rev. O.A. Stillman, and interment was had in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
