SARAH HOLMES PASSES AWAY AT BINGEN

     Sarah Caroline Holmes, daughter of William and Sarah Greathouse, was born on the second day of June, 1881 in Berry County, Missouri.
     She was united in marriage to Thomas W. Holmes who preceded her in death in 1951. She then moved to Bingen, Washington to be near her son, Carl Holmes, who survives her. Also surviving are a grandson, Carl Vernon Holmes, and three great-grandchildren, Terry, Carol and Christopher Holmes, all of White Salmon, Washington.
     Mrs. Holmes passed away May 23rd in Bingen at the age of 92 years.
     Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 28th, at 11 a.m. in the White Salmon Cemetery with Rev. Donald Kaelin of the United Methodist Church officiating.
     Casket Bearers were: Ned Taylor, Carl Winter, Tom Bond, Philip Brumbaugh, Tom Kimbro, and Walter Baumgarden.
