HYLTON
A long-time Klickitat County resident Stanley E. Hylton
of Lyle died Oct. 12, 1990 in The Dalles. He was 75.
Mr. Hylton was born August 13, 1915 in Glenwood to Vera
M. (Clark) and John Adam Hylton. He grew up in Lyle, and married Audrey Korthase
April 10, 1937 near Goldendale. He farmed in Trout Lake for 13 years, then
moved back to Lyle where he worked as a carpenter.
He was a member of the First Gospel Church in Lyle, the
Carpenter's Local and Columbia Grange; Mr. Hylton was also a retired volunteer
fireman, and served as grand marshal of the Lyle Pioneer Days Parade. He
loved to ride motorcycles and watch his grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Hylton, Lyle of; six
children; Duaine Hylton, Toledo, Wash.; Bruce Hylton, Lyle; Jerry Hylton,
Portland; Craig Hylton, Trout Lake; Jonas Hylton, Lyle; and Kay Parks, Vancouver,
Wash.; a brother, Howard Hylton of White Salmon; 16 grandchildren and six
great-grand children.
Services were Oct 16 at Gardner Funeral Home, White Salmon,
the Rev. Les Haarstad officiating. Committal was in Appleton Cemetery, with
Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
