On his arrival here he filed on a homestead, in the Pleasant Valley section, about 12 miles east of this city. He was actively engaged in farming on the place until he came to Goldendale to reside, some ten years ago.
He is survived by Jeff. D. Smith, a son, and a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Allyn, both of Goldendale. The funeral services were held from the Chapman Chapel, on Tuesday, April 14, with interment in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.
