SPENCER FREY
Spencer Frey, who retired from the Forest Service and
became a packer and guide in the Mt. Adams area, died from an apparent heart
attack on a trail in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Aug. 24.
Services were Monday at 2 p.m. in Gardner Funeral home,
White Salmon, the Rev. Bill Collier officiating. Interment was in Balch Cemetery,
Lyle.
Mr. Frey, who had lived in the Trout Lake area most of
his life and was also a rancher in Trout Lake and Lyle, is survived by his
wife, Erma, of Trout Lake; mother, Mrs. Leota Hylton, Camas; children, Lewis
Henry Frey II, Seattle. Jacqueline Petrin, Corbett, Ore., Spencer D. Frey,
Lyle, and Richard A. Frey, Trout Lake; three brothers, Gladwin Hylton, Vancouver,
Howard Hylton, White Salmon, and Stanley Hylton, Lyle; one sister, Dorothy
Cummings, Salem, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Mr. Frey was born Feb. 28, 1915 in Camas to Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Frey.
