"White Salmon"
Alonzo Scrout of Fulda, while working on A.E. Woolpert's
new dwelling about 3 miles north of town, fell from a dormer about 20 feet
above the ground and struck on his shoulders and back. In climbing around
the dormer Mr. Scrout took hold of a piece of timber that was not securely
nailed, and fell backward, carrying the timber with him to the ground. He
was picked up unconscious. He was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland,
where his injuries were pronounced probably fatal.
Mr. Scrout is a resident of Fulda, and a brother-in-law
of Ernest Hurlspool of Laurel.
