MATTSON
Shirley May Mattson, 62, died Wed., Dec. 18, 1991 in
a Salem, Ore. hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Goldendale to James
and Adria Smith Watson.
Mattson married Gerald Mattson on July 11, 1948 in Goldendale
and moved to Independence, Ore. in 1964. She retired from the registrar's
office at Western Oregon State College in 1975. Mattson enjoyed oil painting,
reading and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald Mattson of
Independence; two sons, Jeff and Beckey Mattson of Eugene and Garth Mattson
of Vancouver; a daughter, Erin and son-in-law John Schroeder of Bend; and
three grand daughters, Abrie and Natalie Schroeder of Bend and Kimberly Mattson
of Eugene.
Memorial funeral services were held Mon., Dec. 23 at
the Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence with Jack McElravy presiding. Private
inurnment will be in Goldendale.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ella Curren
Food Bank, 164 "C" Street, Independence, Ore. 97351.

INDEPENDENCE -- Shirley May Mattson, 62, died Wednesday
in Salem.
She was born in Goldendale, Wash., and moved to Independence
in 1964.
She married Gerald Mattson on July 11, 1948, in
Goldendale.
She retired from the registrar's office at Western Oregon
State College in 1975. Her hobbies were oil painting and reading.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Jeff of Eugene
and Garth of Vancouver; daughter, Erin Schroeder of Bend; and three
grandchildren.
Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday in Farnstrom
mortuary. Private inurnment will be in Goldendale. Contributions may be made
to the Ella Curren Food Bank, 164 C St., Independence, Ore. 97351.
