SAMUEL I. APLIN
A resident of the Bingen-White Salmon area for over fifty
years, Samuel R. "Happy" Aplin and died Sunday at the age of 82.
Mr. Aplin was born in January 15, 1898 in Dilley, Ore.,
to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McBride Aplin. He moved into this area 53 years ago
and worked as a road grader operator for the state and for logging operations.
He was a member of the Husum Church of God.
Survivors include his wife Mildred, Bingen; two sons,
Jim, Forks, and Larry, White Salmon; one daughter, Doreen Jaksha, Clatskanie,
Ore.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Rev. Leonard Krushel conducted funeral services for Mr.
Aplin Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon. Burial
was at the White Salmon Cemetery.
The family suggests anyone wishing to make contributions
in Mr. Aplin's name may make them to the American Heart Association.

SAMUEL APLIN DIES IN BINGEN
Samuel P. Aplin of Bingen died January 27, 1980, at the
age of 82 in Bingen. Services were held Wednesday, January 30, at Gardner's
Funeral Home, White Salmon, Pastor Leonard Krushel officiating.
Known as "Happy" Aplin, the deceased had lived in the
Bingen-White Salmon area for 53 years. He was born January 15, 1898, in Dilley,
Oregon, the son of Mr. and Mrs, Samuel NcBride Aplin.
"Happy" Aplin was a road-grader operator for the Washington
State Road Department. He attended Husum Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Aplin of Bingen;
three children, Jim of Forks, Larry of White Salmon, and Doreen Jaksha of
Clatskanie, Oregon, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Contributions in Mr. Aplin's memory may be sent to the
Heart Fund.
