FORMER COUNTY RESIDENT DIES
Graveside services were held at the Spring Creek cemetery
Wendesday morning for Steve Smith, former resident of this county. He was
a former resident of the Crofton Prairie area.
Mr. Smith died in a Seattle hospital May 3. He is survived
by his widow: Agnes, two sons, Earl and Virgil, and a daughter, Edith, all
of Vancouver. Three sisters and three brothers also survive.

STEVE R. SMITH
A resident of Vancovuer since 1916, Steve R. Smith, 3111
Z st. died yesterday at Laurel Beach sanitarium in Seattle. He had been in
failing health for five years. He was born in Iowa.
He is survived by his widow Agnes; two sons, Virgil and
Earl of Portland; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Evans; six sisters, Mrs. Edna
Howard, Mrs. Harriett Wright of Portland, Mrs. Annie Shaphard of Newberg,
Ore., Mrs. Alice Henderson, Mrs. Elizabeth Allen and Mrs. Crystal Slayton
of Iowa; three brothers, T.A. Smith of Sheridan, Wyo., Joe Smith and Sim
Smith of Nebraska and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock
in the Vancouver funeral chapel. Interment will be Wednesday Goldendale,
Wash.
