STEVEN THROOP SERVICES TO BE HELD JULY 20
Steven L. Throop was born in McMinnville, Oregon on January
25, 1949, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd D. Throop. He
started Elementary school in Glenwood, Washington and in 1958 the family
moved to Odell, Oregon. He completed Elementary school at Central Vale, the
Junior High School at Mid Valley in Odell. He graduated from Wy'East high
School.
For a time following graduation he was employed at Tonn's
Auto Parts in Hood River and later was with August Gehrig employed with logging
operations and handling heavy equipment.
He entered the military service with the Marines in October
of 1970. He was stationed at the Navy Base in Cherry Point, North Carolina
at the time of his death. He died at Newport, Virginia on July 14th.
He is survived by his parents, Lloyd D. and Donaldeen
M. Throop of Trout Lake, Wa.; two sisters, Mrs. Jacquelin Iles of Hood River,
Or.; Barbara Marie Throop of Trout Lake, Wa.; four brothers: Dwayne C. Throop
who is in Military service in the Philippines; Monty G. Throop, Douglass
A. Throop and Brian C. Throop all of Trout Lake, Wa.
Also surviving is his grand father, W.A. Martzall of
North Bonneville, Wa., and grandparents, Harold and Myrtle Throop of Odell,
Oregon.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 20, at 11:00 a.m.
at the Pioneer Community Church in Glenwood, Washington. Graveside military
services will be in the Mt. Adams Cemetery, Glenwood, Washington. Rev. Mr.
Donald Kaelin of the White Salmon United Methodist Church will officiate
at the services.

STEVEN L. THROOP
A 24-year-old serviceman who attended Hood River county
schools died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident
July 14.
Steven L. Throop was stationed at the naval base at Cherry
Point, N.C., at the time of his death. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
D. Throop of Troutlake, Wash., who survive.
He was born at McMinnville Jan. 25, 1949, and started
elementary school in Glenwood, Wash. His family moved to Odell in 1958 and
he attended Central Vale school, Mid-Valley and was graduated from Wy'east.
In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters,
Jacqueline Iles of Hood River and Barbara Marie Throop of Troutlake; four
brothers, Dwayne C., with the military service in the Philippines, Monty
G., Douglas A. and Brian C., all of Troutlake; his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Throop of Odell and W.A. Martzall of North Bonneville, Wash.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow, July
20, at the Pioneer Community church in Glenwood, Wash. Interment will be
at Mt. Adams cemetery at Glenwood.
