THOMAS ZIMMERMAN
Thomas Arthur Zimmerman, a lifelong White Salmon resident,
died July 16 at his home in White Salmon at the age of 53.
Mr. Zimmerman was born Sept. 4, 1930 in White Salmon
to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Zimmerman. He graduated from high school in White
Salmon and married Doris I McColley in Glencove, Wash., Aug. 17, 1952. He
worked as a heavy equipment operator for the US Forest Service for 24 years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughters, Helen
Clare Watts, Medford, Ore., and Edith Irene Zimmerman, Bellingham; a brother,
James E. Zimmerman, The Dalles; and two sisters, Margaret Gump, St. Helens,
Ore., and Sarah (Sallie) Smith, Hood River.
Memorial services for Mr. Zimmerman were July 19 at 7:30
p.m., with the Rev. Gerald Nelson officiating. Interment was private.
Contributions may be made in his memory to Rainier Bank
or Doris Zimmerman for the further development of riding trails in the area.
