ANOTHER PIONEER CALLED
Theodore Carl Carstens Passes Away At His Home In Bingen
In the death of Theodore Carl Carstens, of Bingen, Western
Klickitat county has lost one of its best known pioneer residents. Mr. Carstens
died on February 5, 1923.
He was born on July 4, 1829 in Schleswig Holstein, Germany,
and came to the Gilmer valley, Klickitat county, in 1882. The family removed
to Bingen in 1909.
Deceased is survived by Mrs. Theo. Suksdorf, of Bingen;
Mrs. Peter Staack of Laurel; and Mrs. Emilie Gilbert of Portland, and Miss
Anna Carstens of Bingen, and one son, C.E. Carstens of Bingen.
The funeral was held Wednesday with interment in the
I.O.O.F. cemetery.
