SERVICE LAST MONDAY FOR T. YARINGTON
Therion D. Yarrington, son of George and Minnie Yarrington,
was born August 12, 1901 at Elgin, Oregon. He lived in Elgin until about
16 years of age, when he left home to work on farms and ranches in Idaho.
Then he worked on the wheat ranches of Sherman County in Oregon. Later, he
was a partner in hog raising on a farm on Vashon Island, near Bremerton.
During World War II he served with SeeBees as Carpenter's
Mate first class, with the 64 Battalion where he saw service in Newfoundland
and the Philippines.
He spent the remainder of his life in White Salmon, spending
many years falling timber; working for Seaton, Palermo, Long Bell, and Faye
McNabb. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy working in the woods of falling timber.
In fact, he spent many weekends doing this work although he was regularly
employed in the Plywood Mill at Bingen.
He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member
of the National Rifleman's Association. Many hours were wiled away in following
these activities. He also loaded many of his own shells.
He passed away while at work in the Mill in Bingen, May
24, 1964. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Katherine, six brothers;
Virgil of Oak Ridge, Oregon; Harlan, of Parkdale, Oregon; Donald and Ivan
of Elgin, Oregon; and Horace of Clinton, Missouri. (Two sisters preceded
him in death, Anna and Cora) and a host of friends.
