     Thomas Madden, a former resident of this section, passed away several days ago at his home in San Francisco. The body was brought here, the funeral services being held from the Catholic church on Tuesday morning. He was a son-in-law of the late Joseph Linden, having married Miss Dolly Linden about eight years ago. The deceased was about 30 years of age, and highly respected by all who knew him. The interment took place at the Catholic cemetery.

OBITUARY

     Mr. Thomas Madden, who died in San Francisco, Thursday March 21, 1918, and brought to Goldendale for burial on Tuesday, was born in Ohio, December 10th, 1879. When a small child he was taken to a Muskogee, Okla., where he lived to be a young man.
     After starting out west he stopped in Colorado, where he joined the Company D. of the National Guards, later coming to Portland, Oregon.
     On July 20th, 1908 he came to Goldendale, and was married to Mina Carey Linden. They made their home in Portland 'till about four years ago, when they came to San Francisco to live. When about 9 months later he met with a street car accident of which he never recovered.
     Mr. Madden was so patient during the three years of his suffering, and even to the last uttered no word of complaint on going to his Maker.
     Mr. Madden was a kind and loving husband. Besides his wife he leaves a brother, F.V. Madden, of Muskogee, Okla., and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
